About HIlda Walsh

Hilda is the Head of the Locomotor Service,part of Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. She is also staff governor at Homerton.

She was instrumental in establishing the Locomotor Service an integrated pain and musculoskeletal physiotherapy service in 2003 and in successfully bidding for increased permanent funding for service expansion in 2014 to create a specialist interdisciplinary community pain service.

She has 12 years' experience working in pain management and has previously worked at Central Middlesex Hospital and St James Hospital Dublin

She studied pain at masters level at Queen Margaret University and In 2010 she completed a commissioning module at City University / Queen Mary's evaluating the cost effectiveness of ESPs in the community. She has worked closely with commissioners as part of a primary care trust and community provider of MSK care.

In April 2016 the Locomotor Service was shortlisted for two health service journal awards. On 2015 the service reached the finals of Physiotherapy Team of the Year (GP practice awards) and Patient Experience Network Innovation Awards (strengthening the foundation category).
