About Dr Sharon Chan-Braddock

Sharon is a highly experienced Musculoskeletal Medicine clinical academic and Advanced Practice physiotherapist, with many years of diverse experience of MSK across clinical, academic, education and quality agenda areas regionally and nationally. In 2024, Sharon became the first physiotherapist in the UK, and internationally, to gain dual SOMM Fellowship and MACP Membership, which is a recognition of meeting consultant level of practice and International MSK standards of practice set by IFMOPT.

Sharon has been actively involved in post graduate MSK education since 2009. She is the MSc Module Lead of Injection Therapy at SOMM, the largest and the most established injection therapy training course in the UK. She has trained over a thousand physiotherapists, doctors and MSK multi-professionals over the years. In the recent year, she was appointed as the Portfolio Route Lead of MACP for both national and international candidates, as well as Professional Network and EDI officer of MACP. She has an extensive track record of conference presentations and publications. In Feb 2023, Sharon published the 5th edition of ‘The Practical Approach to Musculoskeletal Medicine’, which is a seminal textbook in the field.

Sharon is passionate about driving changes in improving and supporting MSK health and standards. She is currently Co-Chair of the UK MSK Partnership Group, an expert reference group for national MSK policy and strategy across the UK from more than 50 professional bodies in MSK.
