About Neil Smith

Neil is an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist working within the NHS for over 20 years. He works for the Community Musculoskeletal Service at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. He has experience of delivering injection therapy since 2007 and suprascapular nerve block injections since 2014. Neil has a research interest surrounding the delivery of suprascapular nerve block injections within physiotherapy practice largely facilitated though his training and development on the HEE - NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic pathway. Neil has previously undertaken a HEE Clinical Academic Internship Programme (CAIP) with Birmingham Health Partners and a HEE - NIHR Studentship MSc in Clinical Research at Coventry University. Neil currently works 50% clinical and 50% in research whilst undertaking a HEE - NIHR Pre-doctoral Clinical Academic Fellowship (PCAF) at Warwick Clinical Trials Unit.
